Wiskind's SR6 Roofing System has recently achieved new breakthroughs in FM Approval. Under standard construction, the system successfully passed the FM 1-300 ultra-high wind uplift resistance test, representing an improvement of more than 50% compared to previously certified levels.
With this achievement, the SR6 system stands out as a highly competitive metal roofing solution under extreme FM wind ratings, making it suitable for projects in all regions worldwide, including areas exposed to severe wind conditions.
At the same time, multiple specifications of Wiskind's cleanroom panels have also successfully obtained FM Approval. These panels meet the requirements of both FM 4880 (fire resistance) and FM 4882 (low smoke generation) standards, enabling their application in high-end environments such as cleanrooms and advanced manufacturing facilities. This milestone further strengthens Wiskind's capability to serve high-spec industrial buildings globally.
FM 4880 – Fire Performance Focus
FM 4880 primarily evaluates fire resistance performance, including flame spread, heat release rate, and combustion characteristics. Materials are required to demonstrate excellent fire resistance under fire conditions, while smoke generation requirements are relatively less stringent.
For example, the 16 ft Parallel Panel Test is used to determine the Peak Chemical Heat Release Rate (PCHRR).

FM 4882 – Fire + Low Smoke Requirement
FM 4882 includes all fire performance requirements of FM 4880 while placing additional emphasis on low smoke emission.
For smoke-sensitive environments such as cleanrooms, materials must meet stricter criteria, including:
· Smoke Development Index (SDI) ≤ 0.40
· Average smoke generation rate (Gsmoke) ≤ 300 mg/s (for pharmaceutical and food storage areas)
To date, Wiskind has obtained FM Approval for a wide range of product systems, making it one of the most comprehensive providers of FM-approved building material solutions globally, as well as one of the most competitive in the market.
FM Global, founded in 1835, is one of the world's largest commercial and industrial property insurers. More than one-third of Fortune 500 companies are insured by FM Global, including industry leaders such as Airbus, Intel, and FedEx.
As the risk bearer, FM Global is committed to minimizing property loss. Its core philosophy—“the majority of losses are preventable, and prevention is better than compensation”—has been upheld for over a century.
Based on this philosophy, FM has established a unique engineering-driven insurance model. From site selection and design to construction and final acceptance, FM engineers are actively involved, providing guidance to ensure property protection.
To support this system, FM Approvals was established to certify products critical to property safety. FM-certified products are carefully selected to ensure high reliability and superior performance.

Certification Mark:
FM APPROVED
Certification Scope:
· Building Materials & Systems: insulation materials, waterproof membranes, wall/roof systems, pipelines, cables, firestopping systems, fire doors
· Fire Protection Products: sprinkler systems, valves, pumps, water mist systems, extinguishers
· Electrical Equipment: explosion-proof equipment, detection devices, alarm systems
FM Approval stands apart from other certification systems due to:
1. Integrated System: FM Approvals, FM Research, and FM field engineers work as a unified system supporting FM Global's insurance services
2. Practical Purpose: Certification is designed to help clients select truly reliable, high-performance products that minimize risk
